Employees
How much is the remuneration?
As a guild company of the State Guild Association for Electrical and Information Technology Lower Saxony / Bremen (Landesinnungsverbands für Elektro- und Informationstechnik Niedersachsen/Bremen) and the North German Association of Electrical and Information Technology e. V. (Norddeutscher Fachverband Elektro- und Informationstechnik e. V.) we are bound by the NORD collective wage agreement.
Start of employment?
Employment starts, if no other time is specified individually, as mentioned in the job offer.
Are tools and work clothes being supplied by the company?
Yes, the company supplies necessary tools and work clothes free of charge. You will receive a yearly subsidy for work shoes.
What are the working hours?
The weekly working time is 40 hours. We offer a flexible working hour model.
The working time frame is from 6:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. with a core time of 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Depending on department, the starting time per day is regulated differently.
How many vacation days do I get?
With a 5-day week, you will receive 30 vacation days per calendar year.
Are there bonus payments?
According to the collective agreement, there is an entitlement to a special payment if the employee has been with the company for more than 12 months. This corresponds to an average monthly salary, which is paid half at the end of June and half at the end of November.
Is there a company pension scheme?
Yes, the company offers the option of taking out direct insurance as part of a group contract and supports the employee with a subsidy.
Is there a capital-building allowance?
No, the company supports the employees with a grant to build up an additional private pension.
Is there a works council?
Yes, there is a works council that employees can address. This currently consists of a committee of 7 members.
Trainees
What are the working hours?
The weekly working time is 40 hours. We offer a flexible working hour model.
The working time frame is from 6:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. with a core time of 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Depending on department, the starting time per day is regulated differently.
Is there a trial period?
The trial period is 4 months, during which the trainee and the company can get to know each other and decide whether further training makes sense.
Is it possible to shorten the training period?
It is not possible to shorten it from the start, as we plan a certain process in the individual departments in our company and the scope of the training cannot otherwise be carried out to the desired extent.
Subsequent application for a reduction is possible with corresponding good grades and the approval of the school and the company. However, you should always remember that you will have to teach yourself the training material of six months.
How much is the remuneration?
Wir sind als Innungsbetrieb des Landesinnungsverbands für Elektro- und Informationstechnik Niedersachsen/Bremen an den Tarifvertrag für Lehrlinge in den Elektrohandwerken der Länder Bremen und Niedersachsen gebunden.
How many vacation days do I get?
Der Urlaubsanspruch beträgt pro Kalenderjahr 27 Arbeitstage laut Tarifvertrag. Bei der Fa. Steinlen erhalten die Auszubildenden allerdings, wie alle anderen MitarbeiterInnen auch, 30 Urlaubstage.

Which school will I visit?
For commercial trainees, lessons take place at BBS 1, Am Reiherpfahl 12 in 29223 Celle. In the first year of the apprenticeship, lessons take place two days a week. One day per week in the 2nd and 3rd year of apprenticeship. The company takes care of the registration for the vocational school and apology in the event of illness.
For industrial trainees, lessons take place at BBS me, Lavesallee 14 in 30169 Hanover. The lessons take place in block form (one week per month). The company takes care of the registration for the vocational school and apology in the event of illness.
The school books will have to be paid for by yourself.
Additional inter-company apprentice training
Inter-company training for apprentices ensures a broad, uniform level of training that is continuously adapted to technical and economic changes.
These courses will take place at Campus Handwerk, Seeweg 4 in 30827 Garbsen.
The company offers a subsidy for travel expenses.
Are there bonus payments?
According to the collective agreement, there is an entitlement to a bonus payment if the employee has been with the company for more than 12 months. This will be paid out at the end of November. The amount varies depending on the year of training.

Is there a youth and trainee representative?
Yes, there is a youth and trainee representative that trainees can contact if they have problems. This is elected every two years by trainees and employees under the age of 25.
Trip for trainees
A “trainee trip” is organized every year. This takes place on a weekend in September. The trip is intended for the commercial and industrial trainees to get to know each other.
Joint company celebrations
A summer festival and a Christmas party are being held every year.
